Hair transplantation is the process of implantation which restores the hair loss due to genetics, age and stress factors.
The patients who will have hair transplantation are pre-assessed. The quaility of the hair roots to be transplanted, whether the hair loss is complete or not, hair type and the type of hair loss are identified and then the process is planned accordingly for the optimal result.
Hair transplantation is usually carried out under local anaesthesia. If the patients’ pain threshold is low, they may be given sedatives. The average duration of the operation is 5 or 6 hours. First, hair grafts are taken from the donor area one by one with the help of micromotor by FUE technique. The grafs taken are placed in sterile containers and aligned one by one. Then, the areas where hair roots are to be implanted are prepared. Finally, the taken roots are placed on the opened canals and the process is completed.
During the process, blood is drawn from the patient and a plasma which is rich in thrombocyte and which is called PRP is prepared and it is injected onto the areas on which hair roots are planted. This helps the hair roots to adapt to the area better.
1 or 2 days after the operation, the first hair wash is done by our team. The patient is shown how to wash his /her hair. His /her medicine is prescribed and he /she is told how to use them.
Approximately 6 or 12 months later the implanted hair grows. The patient is advised to quit smoking or cut down on smoking. He/she does not need to wear a hat or anything else.
